MEDICAL TEAM
Martin G. Ferrillo D.O.
Dr. Ferrillo, owner and Medical Director, joined the Albany and Saratoga Centers for Pain Management in 2006 after earning his Medical Degree at New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2001 and has specialized in both Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Regenerative Medicine, and Pain Management.
His passion is in helping others with musculoskeletal pain problems. Dr. Ferrillo is double Board-Certified and licenced to practice medicine and surgery in N.Y. State.
Radana Dooley M.D.
Dr. Dooley is board-certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation and in electrodiagnostic medicine.
She received her medical degree at Charles University in the Czech Republic and completed post-graduate work at medical centers in Florida and California.
Dr. Dooley completed her residency at the Nassau University Medical Center Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency Program where she also served as chief resident.
She is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the Medical Society of the State of New York, Warren County Medical Society and the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine.
Sophie Scherl - M.D.
Dr. Scherl joined ASCPM in August 2022 after completing her fellowship in Interventional Spine, Sports & Regenerative Medicine at the Bodor Clinic in Napa, California.
She attended Brown University as an undergraduate and following graduation completed two years of research in New York City at the THANC foundation. She received her MD from Albany Medical College in 2017 and then went on to complete her residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Albany Medical Center in 2021. She served as chief resident and graduated with distinction in Leadership and Quality Improvement.
Dr. Scherl is board certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. She has a special interest in regenerative medicine for the treatment of chronic musculoskeletal pain.
Dr. Arthur Strzepka
Dr. Arthur Strzepka
Dr. Strzepka brings a unique blend of expertise in emergency medicine and pain management to our practice. He earned his medical degree from Nova Southeastern University and completed his residency training in emergency medicine at Albany Medical Center. Dr. Strzepka further specialized in interventional pain management through a fellowship at ASCPM.
His interest in pain management was sparked by a personal experience when his father suffered a compression fracture while skiing. Witnessing the transformative impact of a kyphoplasty in alleviating his father’s symptoms ignited Dr. Strzepka’s passion for helping others find relief from pain. With a focus on interventional approaches, he is dedicated to enabling patients to lead productive, mobile lives.
Originally from Mahopac, NY, Dr. Strzepka now proudly calls upstate New York his home, embracing the Adirondack region’s beauty and outdoor activities. Beyond the clinic and procedure room, he finds solace in nature and maintains an active lifestyle, often working out or hiking with his dog while enjoying his favorite music.
Dr. Rebecca Korn
Dr. Rebecca Korn
Dr. Rebecca Korn, DO, is a physician specializing in interventional pain management, particularly focused on spine and musculoskeletal conditions. Originally from Randolph, NJ, she received her undergraduate education at University of Maryland College Park, followed by her graduate and medical degrees at Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine.
She completed her residency training in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, where she served as Administrative Chief Resident. She then completed an Interventional Spine & Sports Medicine fellowship at OSS Health in York, PA prior to joining the ASCPM team.
Her clinical expertise includes fluoroscopy-guided interventions, musculoskeletal ultrasound, and regenerative medicine, with a holistic approach to care. Outside of work, Rebecca enjoys spending time with family, traveling, and exploring new restaurants.
Lorina Aiello N.P.
Lorina Aiello
Lorina Aiello, NP-C (Lori), has been a dedicated nurse practitioner specializing in pain management since 1999. With a focus on interventional treatment, she helps patients manage chronic pain from conditions such as spinal issues, neuropathic pain, orthopedic problems, CRPS, and more, offering a range of treatments, including regenerative medicine and surgical options.
Lorina began her nursing career after earning her RN from St. Elizabeth’s School of Nursing in 1990 and later graduated from the Community General Nurse Practitioner program in 1998. She received her national NP certification in 1999 and continues to recertify every five years with the AANPCB. Before pain management, her clinical expertise spanned OB/GYN, family practice, the cardiac cath lab, and the operating room.
Her passion for pain management was sparked by a personal experience, caring for a family member with advanced pancreatic cancer. Outside of her work, Lorina enjoys cooking and spending quality time with her family. She is a member of the NYS Nurse Practitioner Association.
Robert Akey P.A.
Robert Akey, P.A. has a special interest in sports medicine, including regenerative therapies and visco supplementation.
Robert Akey graduated as valedictorian of radiography from the School at UVM Hospital in 2004. Robert Akey finished his BS in Human Biology from University of Albany in 2016. Robert Akey worked as a radiographer at Albany Medical Center, then here at ASCPM for 6 years. Then graduated with a Masters in Physician Assistant studies at Albany Medical College.
Brionna Skpowski - NP
Brionna Skpowski
Brionna Skpowski, FNP-BC, is a dedicated nurse practitioner with one year of experience in pain management. She focuses on helping patients improve their daily lives through interventional treatments and minimally invasive procedures, aiming to minimize reliance on pain medication. Brionna earned her degree from Utica University in 2023 and is committed to enhancing patient care and education.
Outside of work, she enjoys outdoor activities like hiking and boating with her two golden retrievers, as well as spending time cooking, baking, and reading.
Casandra Campion N.P.
Cassandra Campione
Cassandra Campion, FNP-BC, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner with one year of experience in pain management. She holds a degree from Walden University, graduating in 2023. Cassandra believes in a compassionate, individualized approach to pain management, aiming to empower patients through education and collaboration to ensure they understand their pain and treatment options.
In her free time, Cassandra enjoys playing volleyball, walking with her golden retrievers, and baking.
Kathryn Sabo P.A.
Kathryn Sabo
Kathryn Sabo is a registered physician assistant with over 25 years of experience in family practice and urgent care. For the past 8 years, she has focused on pain management, particularly with geriatric patients. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology/Chemistry from Le Moyne College and earned her Physician Assistant degree from Albany Medical in 1987. Kathryn is board-certified in family practice and licensed in New York State. She is also a member of the New York State Society of Physician Assistants.
In her free time, Kathryn enjoys traveling, hiking, gardening, and baking.
PJ Schuman PA-C, RT(R), RDMS, RVT, CCD
PJ Schuman, PA-C is a board certified physician associate and brings with him over 30 years of diverse medical experience and expertise. He has, quite literally, performed thousands of minimally invasive procedures and minor surgeries throughout his career in a number of clinical settings/environments.
He is a graduate of Albany Medical College, SUNY, and HVCC. He completed clinical internships at Albany Medical Center, St. Peter’s Hospital, Albany VA Medical Center, The Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Children’s Hospital in Boston, MA. He is a distinguished fellow of the American Academy of Physician Associates and holds a medical device patent in his name regarding a fluid drainage procedure technique that he invented.
In addition to his board certification as a PA, PJ is a licensed radiologic technologist, ultrasonographer, vascular technologist and clinical bone densitometrist. PJ is also a formally trained and certified facial aesthetic injector through the Aesthetic Medical Educators Training program.
Meticulous and detailed, PJ combines his vast procedural experience along with the latest techniques, and most recent science in everything that he does to achieve optimal outcomes while maintaining safety and efficiency.
Outside of the ASCPM procedural center, PJ enjoys boating, SCUBA diving, biking, skiing and adventure vacations.
Sarah Thomas - NP
Sarah Thomas
Sarah Thomas, MSN, BSN, FNP-BC, is a board-certified nurse practitioner with 9 years of experience in pain management, practicing at ASCPM since 2015. She holds a Bachelor’s in Nursing from SUNY Plattsburgh and a Master’s in Family Nurse Practice from SUNY Polytechnic Institute. Specializing in migraines and Botox treatment, Sarah’s approach to care focuses on not just pain control but also improving functionality and quality of life through a multidisciplinary approach.
Her background as an RN in neurosurgical and orthopedic care inspired her passion for pain management, particularly after seeing her father’s positive experience with chronic pain treatment. Outside of work, Sarah enjoys skiing, golfing, traveling, and coaching her daughter’s flag football team.
Diane Vecchio - NP
Diane Vecchio, Family Nurse Practitioner
Received my education, BSN in nursing, from Plattsburgh University College, graduated in 1979. Started my nursing career at Saint Mary’s Hospital. Worked in the capacity of staff nurse, nurse manager, nursing supervisor, nursing administration. In 1999 I received my masters of science degree from Russell Sage college in 1999. I was employed by Mohawk Valley orthopedics for 20 years. Retired from that practice in 2023. I decided that full-time retirement was not something that was ready for, search for a job and was hired by ASCPM in September 2023.
I like the environment at ASCPM. I enjoy the camaraderie of fellow nurse practitioners and the staff that work with me to provide patient care. In my role as a nurse practitioner, my goal is to work collaboratively with the patient to achieve their pain management goals.
Brent Smith - AGNP
Brent Smith, AGNP
Brent Smith graduated from State University of New York Cortland with a bachelor in arts. While at Cortland, he was a member of the men’s varsity soccer team. He received his Bachelor of Science and Doctorate of Chiropractic at Logan University in Chesterfield, Missouri. Following he worked in sports orthopedics and neurology in Boston, Massachusetts and Manhattan, New York. Brent then pursued his Bachelor of Nursing from Chamberlain University in North Brunswick, New Jersey and his Master of Science in Nursing in the Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner Program at William Patterson University in Wayne, New Jersey.
Prior to joining Albany and Saratoga Centers for Pain Management, he served as in inpatient registered nurse on a neurological and neurosurgical floor at Albany Med.
Brent has a passion for preventive & functional medicine and helping patients optimize their health through both lifestyle modifications and medicine.
When not in the office, he enjoys being outdoors. Hunting, fly fishing, hiking and skiing are some of his favorite outdoor activities.

Jason Pickett CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER
Jason Pickett directs operations, finance, and marketing at Albany Saratoga Centers for Pain Management. A seasoned professional in Business Development, he’s fervent about fostering connections and driving positive change. With a commitment to establishing a productive culture where patients benefit from a cohesive team and team members thrive in an anticipative workplace, Jason embodies the ethos of constant evolution.
Throughout his career, Jason played pivotal roles at innovative companies striving to tackle pressing issues. As Co-founder of Kaden Health, devoted to combating opioid addiction through technology, he shouldered the responsibility of forging strategic partnerships with like-minded entities. Thriving on connecting audacious organizations with a shared goal of effecting substantial change, Jason demonstrated his ability to envision and execute groundbreaking solutions.
In his extensive tenure in insurance and risk management, Jason excels in leveraging technology and data to provide top-tier client service. He adeptly navigates the spectrum of offerings, tailoring solutions to each client’s unique risks, objectives, and aspirations. By identifying optimal financing strategies such as self-funding or alternative risk options, he ensures clients’ needs align with strategic solutions, safeguarding their future.
